Creative Commons news

We’ve been travelling around the country giving seminars and workshops about copyright licensing and Creative Commons. Let us know if you’d like us to come to you!

Open Educational Resources Sprints

Thank you so much to everyone who participated in our OER Sprints last month! We had teachers gathering together resources in Pond, a Wellington team creating an activity to quickly teach people about Creative Commons, and a Whanganui team putting together an OER to teach adults about the internet. And thank you William McKee for his awesome artwork!

Open Data in Aotearoa

Our Interim Public Lead Keitha Booth has given a public lecture about open data in Aotearoa that was fully booked – twice! You can watch the video here. You can catch up on the sessions from the Open Data leadership series here: Joel Gurin, Beth Noveck and Richard Stirling.

NZ Music Month & CC

What better way to celebrate NZ Music Month this month than with this compilation of free culture Kiwi tracks on Soundcloud!

Get your newspapers digitised

The National Library of New Zealand Te Puna Matauranga o Aotearoa has funding available to help digitise collections of newspapers and add them to Papers Past (which has a beautiful beta release coming!).
